Lizzie is a fully qualified ACCA accountant. She is currently Finance Manager at Pilgrims English Language Courses, in Canterbury, one of the world's leading language training companies. She is also on the Finance Board of IATEFL, The International Association of Teachers of English as a Foreign Language. She lives in Whitstable, where she enjoys running, yoga, gardening and sewing.

I am currently employed as the Global Environmental Health and Safety Senior Manager for the Energy Business Unit of TE Connectivity, managing twenty-one manufacturing and distributions sites, various office and sales hubs, research development and test laboratory’s, covering all continents and world regions with on average three thousand employees in the Business Unit. My role with BCT includes temporary Chairperson and EHS Trustee, the latter position I have held since December 2008.

Professional business adviser and social entrepreneur Jo has been based in Kent since 2002, serving as a district councillor in East Kent from 2003-15.

Jo stood for parliament in 2015 and has a passion for developing ambitious solutions for the most pressing social challenges.  Jo has worked in the private, public and Third sectors: after 10 years running a paper import business and 4 years at Canterbury Christ Church University as Head of Commercial Enterprise, Jo founded The Knowledge Hive, a consultancy which allowed her to pursue wide ranging interests, including politics.

Jo, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, believes passionately in grassroots support for our local community. In 2011, Jo featured as a business expert in the BIG Lottery/BBC1 series Village SOS, working closely with a tiny village in Wales to deliver rural regeneration through enterprise. Jo has developed social businesses to provide work experience, training and employment solutions for military service leavers. She has recently returned to a management role within the University of Bedfordshire.
